The opening for the new Woden skatepark went down last weekend & was a treat - the level of riding was high & so was the level of fun. The best trick jam was divided into four sections - best trick in the street area, best trick utilizing the main bowl, highest air & a final best trick jam anywhere. Dudes killed it everywhere but my highlights in no particular order were:

- Royal Rat Jack O'Reilly & B Dog destroying everything in the street course.
They were both doing real dialed links & super hard stuff while eveyone else scratched their heads wondering how to do a feeble grind.
- Kelvin being Kelvin & generally going faster & higher than most. Heck, he 3'd his way out of the park in a way I can't explain, but it was wild. Good thing was he earned some money for it.
- Puni rode still injured from a messed up spleen but managed to win best trick in the bowl. Bar to manual to ice to over on the wave. Buck nutty.
- I won money for doing an air
- Beau from Queanbeyan (who I might add helped us get that Stolen bike back) was going really high over everything
- Dudes went nuts for free stuff

There's not much more to say really, but it was a good way to kick off a new park & what I can only assume will be a hell of a summer.

Fitty won some money for this, it was sick. This bowl is 8ft tall & reaches vert so it's hard to air on it's own.

Kelvin opened this line up & so far I haven't seen anyone ride it like he can. Trust me, this is a big gap to lookback.

This is as street as it got for me. 180 over the rail.

I love the look on the kid in the front's face - definitely psyched on free stuff.
